Lench rejoins the Stones

Wealdstone have signed attacking midfielder Matt Lench from National League South club Slough Town.

Lench will be well known to Stones fan, having previously played for the club in the first half of the 2018/19 season where he made a total of 14 appearances, scoring his only goal in the 1-0 win over Woking.

He began his career with his local club Chesham United, before moving to Hitchin Town where his goals from midfield earned him a move to Slough Town for the 2017/18 season.

He would go on to score back-to-back FA Cup hat-tricks against Kidlington and Gainsborough Trinity that took the Rebels on a memorable run to the FA Cup 2nd Round and also play a key role in promotion to the National League South later on in that season.

He joined Wealdstone in the summer of 2018 before returning to the Rebels in January 2019, where he had been a mainstay in the Rebels midfield.

Matt goes straight into the squad to face Maidenhead United on Boxing Day.
