Weston-super-Mare – Sat 21 Jan – KO 15:00
We travel to the Woodspring Stadium, the home of Weston-super-Mare , this Saturday for our latest Vanarama National League South fixture kick-off 15:00.
When the sides met back at the start of September a single goal from Elliot Benyon in the second half was enough to give the Stones the 3 points that night. Our hosts are presently sitting in 16th place on 25 points from their 25 games played having won 7, drawn 4 and lost 14 scoring 32 and conceding 46 goals. In their latest league outing they lost 2-3 at Dartford on Tuesday night.
New Head Coach Scott Bartlett who replaced Ryan Northmore at the start of October has made some significant changes to the ‘Seagulls’ squad with a number of loan signings and an emphasis on ‘youth’. Performances and results had picked up recently with holiday wins against ‘local’ rivals Truro City 2-1 (away) and 4-2 (home).
We travel in good sprit following the excellent team performance which resulted in the 2-1 win at Southport last weekend in the Buildbase FA Trophy and the 1-0 victory on Tuesday night against neighbours Harrow Borough in the Middlesex Senior Cup. It will be interesting to see the game plan that the Stones management team and squad seek to deploy on Saturday.
Get behind the lads from the off, make plenty of noise and offer encouragement in what is likely to be a another hard fought and close game over the 90+ minutes as we go in search of the points on offer.
