Wealdstone 3 – 0 Bedfont & Feltham
3 - 0
Wealdstone ran out 3-0 winners evening to book a place in the Middlesex Charity Cup semi-final versus Uxbridge at the expense of Bedfont & Feltham at Grosvenor Vale on Tuesday.
Dan Fitchett opened the scoring on his home debut before Jonny Wright scored the pick of the bunch with an arrowed effort into the top corner; Danny Green rounded off the scoring in the 81st minute.
Gordon Bartlett made seven changes to the side that lost 5-1 at Eastbourne Borough on Saturday with Liam Goulding the most noticeable inclusion, making his comeback from injury.
It took a while for either side to create chances in the first half but it was home keeper Luke Sheldrick who was the first to be called into serious action, spectacularly tipping a close range Tony Mendy effort over the bar.
Fitchett then gave the Stones on the lead after 35 minutes, squirming into some space on the edge of the area before unleashing a well executed finish into the bottom corner.
On 62 minutes Sheldrick was again alert, showing quick reactions to tip Melford Simpson’s low effort round the post and deny Bedfont & Feltham an equaliser. And two minutes later the visitors were punished. Nathan Corkery played Wright through on goal and he sent a powerfully accurate effort past Raven Constable and into the top corner.
Joe White almost grabbed a goal after capitalising on a mistake by Emmanuel Sam, his low effort had Constable beaten but it came off the outside of the post and out for a goal kick.
White then turned Sam on the edge of the area before hitting a low cross to Aryan Tajbakhsh, but it deflected into the path of Green who slotted home an easy third to seal the game.
The Stones will now travel to the Honeycroft on Tuesday 11th April to face Uxbridge in the semi-final, 19:45 Kick Off.
