Midfielder Danny Green signs-on for 2016/17 campaign
Green, 25, started his career with Harlow Town and then enjoyed experience with Cheshunt and Bishop’s Stortford before moving to Billericay Town in 2009. He then joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a three-year contract in May 2010, initially adding to his experience on loan at several clubs
He made his professional debut for League Two Dagenham & Redbridge later that season coming on as a substitute in their away loss to Bournemouth in the Football League Cup Second Round
After having been released by Dagenham Danny played for AFC Sudbury, Bishop’s Stortford for a second spell, Thurrock and then Maidenhead United where he enjoyed a very successful couple of campaigns. In June 2015, Green signed for Vanarama National League South rivals Margate.
Stones Manager Gordon Bartlett said: ‘I spoke to Danny last pre- season, so twelve months of patience has been rewarded and I am excited that his creativity and eye for a goal will be a big asset to the squad. Now in his mid-twenties, Danny is the type of player who possesses the ability to be a match winner and provide entertainment for the fans as well’
CEO Mark Winkworth said: ‘”We wanted Danny and Danny wanted Wealdstone. I met him and his father last week and they were keen to come to Wealdstone, having heard good things about the club. Danny is a fantastic addition to our squad for next season. He will bring a vast amount of experience and will give us some extra flare in the midfield.”
