StonesAid 5

Wealdstone FC is delighted to announce that the ever popular StonesAid gig is making a return for a fifth episode which will take place following our home league game with Hendon at The Vale on Saturday 22nd February 2014.

The event will act as a fundraiser to the playing budget with profit from the night going directly to the Stones playing budget as we strive to maintain our promotion push in the final months of the season.StonesAid5

Entry to the gig however, will be free of charge! On the night, there will be a raffle and a donations box for anyone who wants to throw in any spare change. The Ruislip Social Club will also be making a donation to the playing budget from the bar take on the night. It’s simple really; football, beer, music and it’s all for a good cause!

For those who cannot make the gig, do not fear – you can still help out by purchasing a virtual pint.

The gig line up…an introduction to:

The Nerudas

Local band with young sticksman Alex Rands providing the Stones fans link. The Nerudas will kick the evening off with a raucous mix of punk-infused covers and a couple of originals from their growing arsenal of tracks.

Rory Simmons

This will be a real treat, as 15 year old Rory – son of Cambridge based Stones fan Lee Simmons is a mad punk fan. Just him and a guitar playing some old classics. Showing some real guts to get up on stage, please give Rory your total support.

Formed around the song writing partnership of arch beat pop dons Mark and Colin (Stones fan Colin Bunner), Tim on traps, and Janne on Hofner bass The J-PEGS have so far released 2 EPs, including Nancy Sinatra, a firm favourite at New York’s hip WFMU radio station. This is lush retro pop from a less ironic age.

Formed in early 2013, Hallows is a progressive metal-core band hailing from London. In 2013 the band recorded their debut four track EP titled “Reflections”. Following the EP release in November 2013 the band hit the London gig circuit sharing the stage with the likes of We Die Tonight, Weather The Storm and A Trust Unclean. Expect a ferocious set backed by an enthusiastic local crowd.

Combining Stones fans Mickey Kaney, John and Dave Lloyd of My Gay Monkey fame with Alex ‘Xander’ Rands and Adam ‘Scummer’ Hills comes a howitzer of a set taking some MGM classics with their own take on some modern and classic era anthems.
