Wealdstone v Chelsea Under 21s match preview
This will be a great opportunity for the Stones squad to pit their wits against some hugely talented young players who are so far unbeaten against non league opposition as part of their pre season schedule. Managed by former Wealdstone midfielder and fans favourite Dermot Drummy, the Premiership youth outfit are expected to travel to Ruislip with a large squad.
Saturday’s match will also see the official opening of Wealdstone’s new 300 capacity Bulla Stand at 2.30pm Pay at the gate – £10 Adults, £5 concessions, £2 Under 16s. Please arrive early and visit the Ruislip Social Club before the match – and after!
Here are some of the Chelsea players, many of whom are internationals that may well feature in the line-up on Saturday:
Jamal Blackman will vie for the No1 shirt with Matej Delac, signed from Inter Zapresic in Croatia.
The versatile Tika Musonda can play either in midfield or central defence.
A tall, quick centre-back or right-back, Kenneth Omeruo is a Nigerian international who has played for his country since being part of the Under-17s.
Andreas Christensen may well feature in the defensive line up and played last weekend in the 5-1 win at Conference North side Colwyn Bay
Wallace signed for Chelsea in the January 2013 transfer window, and was immediately loaned back to former club Fluminense until the end of the season.
Nathan Ake is a cultured central defender who has represented the Dutch national team, whilst Alex Davey is another very technically-sound central defender.
Adam Nditi, born in Tanzania, is an attacking left-back whilst Lewisham-born Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a tall, composed central midfielder. Anjur Osmanovic hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina also plays in the midfield. Lamisha Musonda is another midfielder possessing a good range of passing skills.
Alex Kiwomya, nephew of former Ipswich Town striker, Chris, is an attacker who normally plays wide on the right-hand side. Islam Feruz is a powerful, pacy striker capable of scoring from all over the pitch.
