Wealdstone v Tooting & Mitcham Utd – Preview

Wealdstone will be looking to get back to winning ways tonight  Monday evening (30 January) when they welcome Tooting & Mitcham United to The Vale, kick-off 7.45pm.

Saturday saw Stones’ recent 15 match unbeaten run ended with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Lowestoft, with manager Gordon Bartlett quoting afterwards that he was ‘gutted and bitterly disappointed’ with the defeat but was looking forward to his charges putting things right on Monday against relegation threatened Tooting.

This season has so far been a tough one for the Terrors with the South London based side currently sitting in 19th position, one place above the relegation zone although they did pick up a vital three points last Saturday, overcoming fellow relegation strugglers Aveley 3-1.

The two sides have met once already this season, with Wealdstone running out 3-0 winners when they met in the FA Trophy back in October. Goals from Wes Parker, Scott Fitzgerald and Richard Jolly did the damage that day in what was a comfortable victory for Stones. No doubt Monday’s match will be much tougher as both sides very much need a result.

Entry to the match is priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
