Chris Moore to sign for Stones
Experienced striker Chris Moore has agreed to sign for Wealdstone from Evo-Stick Southern League Central side, Uxbridge FC.
Moore,32, began his career at Brentford as a trainee before moving on to Uxbridge, Northwood and then Dagenham & Redbridge.
He was signed by Brentford manager Leroy Rosenior on a free transfer in July 2006, but, unable to break into the Brentford first team, he rejoined his former club Dagenham & Redbridge and made a total of 139 appearances, scoring 49 times for the East London club over two spells. Moore then went on to play for Chelmsford City and in 2009 he had a brief stay at Farnborough.
After a period out of the game, Moore rejoined his former club Uxbridge at the turn of 2012 where he was top scorer, netting some vitally important goals as Tony Choules’ side qualified for the play-offs. He then started the current campaign in impressive form and netted the equalising goal against Wembley FC which was broadcast live on ESPN.
Wealdstone Manager Gordon Bartlett said: ‘Chris deliberated over the move for a long time, but we are delighted he decided to join us, as we strive to build upon our good start to the season. He has spent many happy years at Uxbridge and it was a obviously a difficult decision. Chris is an experienced striker with a proven goalscoring record and will be a valuable addition to the squad. He offers us something different in our striking options and with over 30 competitive games still to go, the squad is gradually taking shape, with more depth and solidity about it’
