Stones hope for flying start to new season
Ruislip based Wealdstone FC is offering half price admission to military personnel to all league matches for the forthcoming season.
This new initiative offers a high level of senior football to all service personnel, particularly those from the local RAF Northolt base in Ruislip, with whom the Club are forging closer ties. Wealdstone recently agreed terms with the RAF base so that the Club’s First and Reserve teams can use the high quality training facilities on offer.
Club Affiliate Manager Mark Lloyd said: ‘We are very keen to get the football supporting RAF men and women to engage with their local team and see a link to the airbase as a mutually beneficial one’. This, alongside arrangements with Ruislip High School and a number of local junior football clubs forms part of the club’s continuing mission to engage with the local community and create a wide-ranging football community club in Ruislip.
Having increased attendances by over 40% since the move to Ruislip in 2008 the club will now aim to push their average attendance towards 500 for the forthcoming season.
