Billy Gibson signs on loan from Hornets

Wealdstone Manager Gordon Bartlett continues to bolster his injury hit squad and has swooped to sign full professional Billy Gibson from Championship side Watford FC on a month’s loan. Harrow born Gibson, 19, is an exciting wide attacking player who can operate on either flank and has played regularly for Hornet’s reserves until an injury last season curtailed his appearances; he made his first team début against Bristol Rovers in the Carling Cup in August 2008.

It is expected that Gibson will be available for the Ryman League Premier Division match with Horsham on Tuesday evening (15 December) at The Vale.

Hornet’s Boss Malky MacKay is looking to increase competitive playing experience of the promising Gibson and the deal with Wealdstone will undoubtedly aid this process, building on previous very fruitful loan arrangements between the Hornets and Stones that has included the likes of striker Theo Robinson and midfielder John Joe O’Toole playing for Wealdstone.
