Stones set for festive derby clash

Wealdstone are ready for their first Harrow derby clash at their new home at The Vale on Saturday 27 December (Kick off 3pm) when they entertain Harrow Borough.

Stones will be hoping winger Graeme Montgomery has recovered from a stomach strain and is available for his last game for Wealdstone before transferring to Dagenham & Redbridge FC of Coca Cola League Two. Also on the injured list is centre half Darren Locke who scored against Sutton United last week.

Young defender Ben Clarke is currently out on loan to Buckingham Town FC. Stones Manager, Gordon Bartlett, feels that Ben needs to be playing more regularly and will gain valuable experience in the process.

A very large crowd is expected at The Vale for the derby fixture and with no Football League fixtures on Saturday and Stones officials are urging fans to arrive as early as possible to avoid congestion at the turnstiles. Fans are also being asked to keep their admission tickets to gain a 50% discount for the Billericay Town match on January 10th.

The attendance on Saturday will no doubt be further boosted by the plethora of Football League and Championship scouts that will be reporting back on the performance of Harrow Borough’s star player Robin Shroot.

Meanwhile, Wealdstone FC Patron Russell Grant is writing a significant article about the club for the Non League Today newspaper and the piece should appear in this Sunday’s edition.

Wealdstone FC wishes all of their supporters a very happy New Year.
