Stones bow out of FA Yth Cup

Another disappointing result for Wealdstone, this time in the FA Youth Cup at the 1st Qualifying Round stage.

After taking the lead aginst their hosts Cockfosters they ended up being beaten 2-1 by a very good side. Stones scored first after 18 minutes when centre forward Jack Doherty followed up to score after the home goalkeeper had allowed a shot to rebound from his hands. With two minutes to go to half time Cockfosters drew level when Marcel Okoro's shot took a deflection past goalkeeper Sam Leggett.

The lads wasted several good opportunities to regain the lead and in the 81st minute Okoro scored again to give Cockfosters a 2-1 victory and a home tie versus Thamesmead Town or Redbridge in the next round.
