World Cup predict-a-score competition
We are having a World Cup predict-a-score competition for a laugh and to raise funds.
How does it work ?
The World Cup predict-a-score competition will be run along the same lines as the competition we run each season. For those that do not know - each entrant forecasts a scoreline for each match. If they forecast it totally correct they score 3 points. If entrant forecasts the correct winning team but the incorrect scoreline they score 1 point.
In the second part of the competition the entrant predicts the four semi-finalists and eventual winner. Each of these correctly forecast gains 5 points (so potentially 25 points in total). The winner will be the entrant with most points at the end of the tournament. There will be a new league table and a view of all entrant's forecasts published each day on the Wealdstone website/forum.
All selections must be made before the closing deadline of Thursday 10th Jun, 5pm. Each entry will be £5 of which half goes to the club. Of the remainder 60% goes to the winner. 20% to second place, 14% to third and 6% to fourth.
Who is it aimed at?
Everyone! There is no limit on the number of entries. In fact you are encouraged to get additional entrants from your family and/or workplace to make this a worthwhile venture. Ideally I'd like to keep this cash based and for entrants to deliver entry fees to the club but if this is not practical we can accept entry fee by Paypal (via the donation button on the right of this page @ £5.38 for each entry - to cover charges) or cheques made payable to 'Friends of Wealdstone'
How do I enter?
Download the Excel spreadsheet. Enter your details and your selections in the boxes provided, save and send the attachment to events@wealdstonefc.co.uk. This is by far the preferred method I'd like entrants to use.
If this method is not possible then print off the sheet - fill it in by hand and post or deliver it to Ruislip Social Club, Grosvenor Vale, Ruislip, HA4 6JQ for my attention.
Please be aware of the admin involved in collecting entries by any other methods. Remember the club are making a small sum per entry. Obviously no monies, no entry.
Reminder of the deadline: Thursday 10th Jun, 5pm.
