Wealdstone v Aveley Match Preview

Wealdstone return to important league action on Saturday when Aveley will be the visitors to Grosvenor Vale as Stones look to continue their quest for a playoff place.
This campaign has been a disappointing one for the Essex based side and they currently sit in 21st place, some nine points from safety having only won one out of their last 20 league and cup matches. The key man for The Millers will be vastly experienced midfielder Joe Keith, who played over 200 games in the football league for Colchester United. This was followed by spells at Brentford and Leyton Orient before dropping into non league football. Keith is also part of the coaching team at The Mill Field and will be urging his side to gain maximum points to pull away from the drop zone.

This will be the first league game for three weeks for both sides due to the icy weather over the past month, although Wealdstone did of course play in the FA Trophy on Tuesday evening with a heroic performance seeing them earn a 2-2 draw at Dartford.

Stones ran out comfortable winners in the last encounter with the Millers when they overcame their counterparts 3-0 with goals from Richard Jolly (2) and David Hicks, and will no doubt be in a confident mood ahead of this tie as they look to keep up the pressure on the top five.
