Wealdstone Girls 8 – 0 Caversham Girls

For this match, goalkeeping duties were shared by Catherine Fahy and Kevisha Brown.

Wealdstone took an early lead when Kevisha was put through the centre and calmly slotted the ball past the Caversham goalie. On 25 minutes, it was 2-0 when the ball was played through to Ria Bird just inside the Caversham half. She ran towards goal, checked on the edge of the area and shot past their goalkeeper. Just on half time, Kevisha had a chance to make it 3, but her shot was well saved by the Caversham goalkeeper, who was outstanding.

Early in the second half it was 3-0. Catherine received the ball just outside the penalty area and jinked her way through the Caversham defence. 5 minutes later, it was 4. Catherine again bursting through, but her shot was saved by the goalkeeper who could only parry it to Sarah Key who was following up. 2 minutes later another outstanding save from the Caversham goalkeeper from Sarah’s goalbound shot. On 62 minutes, Rochelle Mills crossed from the right and Ria coolly  flicked the ball, which the goalkeeper could not prevent from going in despite getting her fingertips to it. Three  minutes later Catherine again was put through the middle, and shot past the on-rushing goalie.
