Stones on the Road – 3rd Nov 12

Wealdstone are back in the hunt for league points on Saturday when they travel to Hayes Lane, Bromley for another vital Ryman Premier clash, this time against Cray Wanderers.

Cray are currently sitting in 10th position in the league but don’t let that modest berth fool anyone: Stones Manager described the Wands this week as ‘one of the best footballing sides in the league’ and anyone who has seen the Kent side in recent seasons will attest to that opinion. They have only lost twice in the league so far this campaign and in Laurent Hamici they have a highly rated and effective forward.

The evening after Stones had that great comeback result against league leaders Hampton & Richmond this week, Cray had a fine FA Trophy replay win over Cup heroes Arlesey Town with Joe Vines(2) and Hamcini the scorers.

Stones picked up more injuries in that epic clash on Monday night so their may well be some late fitness tests in the offing. For the Wands,Joe Vines limped off with an ankle injury on Tuesday evening so he may struggle to make the starting eleven for the home side on Saturday.
