Hendon v Wealdstone Match Preview
Tuesday night sees Wealdstone head to Vale Farm to take on near neighbours Hendon FC in what is the next vitally important game for Stones in their push for a play-off place.
There is a healthy rivalry between the two clubs, and Wealdstone will be looking to exact revenge for the 2-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of The Dons back in September.
Hendon have so far enjoyed a successful season and currently sit in 7th place, only one point off the playoff positions. They also come into this tie on the back of three straight wins culminating in a 3-0 victory at bottom placed side Horsham last Saturday.
There will also be a very familiar face in the Hendon ranks with former Wealdstone striker Greg Ngoyi being a pivotal figure in the Hendon side having so far netted 14 times this season. Ngoyi enjoyed a successful spell at Wealdstone before leaving for The Dons, and is, of course, most fondly remembered for his hat-trick against Harrow Borough during Stone’s derby victory in 2009.
Tuesday night’s encounter is sure to be an intriguing affair, with Stones extending there recent impressive unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw on Saturday against Cray Wanderers but needing a win to close the gap on the front runners. Saturday’s draw at The Vale meant that Stones have only tasted defeat once in the last 24 matches.
Entry to the match is priced at £9 for adults, £5 OAPs and Students and £1 for Under 16’s.
