Wealdstone Ladies 9 – 0 Ascot Ladies

 {Match Played 25th Sep}

Wealdstone Ladies began the avalanche of goals, just 5 minutes into the game with Rosie Watts scoring. Both teams started strongly, but Stones put in the more telling challenges. Stevie Wickes and Emily Bermingham were commanding in the midfield with Rebecca Mills , Sophie Mooney and Holly Robinson running a tight back line.

Wealdstone ran through Ascot with several shots on goal and a header from Fiona Williamson saw Rosie Watts score her second goal. Nicola Dixon and Stevie Wickes had a choice of shots on goal in the next twenty minutes. Half time the score was Wealdstone 2 – Ascot 0.

In the second half Wealdstone introduced new signings, Catherine Fahy and Leah Gibson.

Although the Ascot keeper did well to save more shots from Nicola Dixon and Stevie Wickes, Catherine Fahy put a brilliant pass through to Nicola Dixon and she scored. Wealdstone subbed again, to bring on Nadia ElKandl and following a corner and Lauren Simmons scored; the goals kept coming and Catherine Fahy went on to net with a header. Katie Harling had several efforts on goal, but they went wide, or just over the bar.

Catherine Fahy scored with 15 minutes to go and then Kerry Guthrie made a strong save to keep a clean sheet for Wealdstone. Rosie Watts went on to score two more goals before the full time whistle – giving Wealdstone an emphatic 9-0 scoreline.

This was another great team performance and determination to win from the Ladies.
