Wealdstone Ladies 4 – 2 Woodley United

In a competitive match from kick -off it was Wealdstone that struck first when a great mazy run from Nicola Dixon resulted in the opening goal. Woodley came back into the game and following constant pressure on Stones goal they equalised just on half time.

In an entertaining end to end game in the second half, Stones regained the lead when, from a Dixon corner, Stevie Wickes netted with a brilliant header. Halfway through the second half, an accurate pass from Katie Harling gave Fiona Williamson an opportunity to score; Catherine Fahy was causing problems for the Woodley defence and had several attempts on goal herself.

A free kick was given to Woodley, and unfortunately, it struck a Stones player on the hand, and a penalty was given to Woodley who duly scored.  Seconds before the end of the game, Catherine Fahy showed some great footwork and beat three players to score the Stones final goal. Full time score: Stones 4 Woodley 2.

Wealdstone: Kerry Guthrie, Rebecca Mills, Sophie Mooney, Lauren Hope, Lauren Simmons, Holly Robinson, Emily Bermingham, Stevie Wickes, Fiona Williamson, Katie Harling, Rosie Watts, Lean Gibson, Nicola Dixon, Catherine Fahy – Sub Nadia Elkandil
