Ryan Ashe Released

Wealdstone’s stalwart midfielder Ryan Ashe has been released following a period out of the starting eleven and some indifferent form this season.

Ryan has been one of the most influential members of the Stones squad in recent seasons and had been an ever present in his playmaker role, weighing in with some crucial goals ; up to the end of last season he had made 140(11)appearances, scoring 47 goals and was player of the year two season ago. One of the highlights of Ryan’s Wealdstone career was undoubtedly the two brilliant goals he netted against Rotherham United in the FA Cup First Round Proper last season.

Stones Manager, Gordon Bartlett said: ‘This has been a very amicable but nonetheless very difficult decision to release Ashey. He has been an excellent servant to this football club and he is rated very highly. It is very disappointing but he needs a fresh start and regular football, this will give him a new lease of life to help reproduce the form that we know he is capable of: we wish him all the very best’
