Stones sign Sam Corcoran and Lee Protheroe

Wealdstone FC have signed up two players on loan deals. Stones manager Gordon Bartlett has negotiated an arrangement with Us Boss Aidy Boothroyd that takes Colchester United midfielder Sam Corcoran to The Vale. Corcoran,18,is highly rated and signed professional forms for Colchester during the summer of 2009 and is becoming a regular part of the first team set up; he will stay at Stones until the New Year. Boothroyd, who has very successfully loaned players to Wealdstone during his tenure at Watford, is very keen to ensure that his squad players are able to get match experience and this arrangement suits both clubs.

Lee Protheroe joins from Welling United of the Blue Square South. Protheroe is a very experienced right sided defender or midfielder and has previously played for Yeading, Chelmsford City and Ebbsfleet as well as Margate of the Ryman Premier.

Finally, apologies in the delay in updating the site today. I received notification that the game was off on my way up to Ruislip whilst on the train, having fired up the lap-top the dongle light went out and that was it, no network connection. I did leave a voice mail for the back office team at home to post something up about the game but they have been out for most of the day so weren’t able to do anything.
