New signings imminent says Gordon Bartlett

Faced with a mounting injury crisis Wealdstone will be signing new players to bolster the squad as soon as possible but numbers will be dependent on developing injury news.

On the ever lengthening sick list is goalkeeper Sean Thomas (fractured finger), midfielder Kieron Forbes and defender Marvin McCoy (both knee), defender Kenny During (ankle) and James Gray (foot) limped off at Sutton, and now Chris Ellerbeck (hamstring) has joined the queue for the treatment room. Also struggling with knocks are Rob Fitzgerald, Ryan Ashe and Lee Chappell.

Gordon Bartlett said: ‘Only three players who started on Saturday – Danny Spendlove, Mark E’Beyer and Greg Ngoyi- trained this week. Saturday was one game too many for a young side against an on song Sutton team. We were never in it and paid the price.

‘However we had a very well attended and positive team meeting on Tuesday (December 1) and we were able to re-focus minds on the games ahead. I will be bringing in some new players imminently dependent on injury news and developments’
