Locke picks a contract with Stones

Wealdstone FC defender Darren Locke, 23, one of last seasons most improved players has been rewarded with a contract.

The tall centre half joined the Stones in July 2008, and, after a series of impressive performances with the reserve team made his first team debut in the eventful 4-3 win at The Vale against now promoted Staines Town in October 2008.

The commanding Locke went on to make a total of 17 appearances in all competitions for the Stones last season, 4 as substitute. He scored one goal, in the Ryman League Premier League in the 2-3 defeat at Sutton United.

Meanwhile Gordon Bartlett’s squad report for pre season training on Tuesday 30th June in preparation for their first friendly match of the new campaign at The Vale against Watford FC on Saturday 18th July. This match is rapidly followed by the encounter with Leeds United on Tuesday 21st July again at The Vale
