Busy AGM for Wealdstone FC

Over 70 Wealdstone FC shareholders and members packed into the Ruislip Manor Sports & Social Club on Thursday evening (11 June) to listen to the Club’s directors provide an update on an extremely busy and eventful year for the club, not least the decision to move its base to Grosvenor Vale in January.

Following the main agenda business, Wealdstone FC Chairman Howard Krais, spoke about the huge progress that had been made during the previous year and he thanked the tremendous amount of people that have come forward to assist in carrying out a huge range of tasks to bring the club to Ruislip. Much significant progress had also been made in regard to the Club’s Youth and junior’s organisation with several local junior football clubs in the process of joining forces and forming alliances to strengthen the set up for the future.

The key message for this season from the directors is a much stronger focus on investment and raising commercial income for both the football club and the development of Ruislip Manor Sports and Social Club and in this regard the newly appointed Commercial Manger, Dennis Byatt, had made an excellent start with a new club sponsorship deal with West One Electrical.

Although a huge amount had already been achieved to revitalise a previously dilapidated ground, volunteers were still very much needed in greater numbers for ground development and improvement works.

First Team Manager Gordon Bartlett then spoke about the challenges being faced for the forthcoming season. He said he was hopeful of keeping most of last season’s squad together and although he was also looking to strengthen the team in certain position.
